Situated on a hill, at the foot of the ancient village, symbol of tradictions and deep attachment for one's own homeland,
Casale San Francesco appears as a small village with a wide square overlooked by a wing of the old family
country house - once the central body of the monastery -, the old stables now used as stores, and the other country houses,
today the residences of the several members of the family Siciliani.
Beyond an arch, that frames a large iron garden which leads to the Sicilianis'properties around the Casale,
we enter in the cloister of the former church of the monastery, with three aisles and very high ceilings,
today used as an oil mill. From an other arch, sided by an old fountain with a stone mask, we enter into the villa
of the Siciliani house, a succesful union of flowers, vegetables and fruit trees: from there, at the shadow of an old palm,
you can enjoy a wonderfool view, with the lonian Sea in front, and the hills and the village behind.
